Preschool Assistant
We have an opening for a part-time Preschool Assistant for our morning sections Monday through Friday.  The assistant would work with both our three-year-old class and our pre-kindergarten class.  The assistant helps the teacher as needed including some instructional tasks.  The assistant would be required to complete training in First Aid and CPR and other topics as required for preschool licensing. Experience in a preschool setting would be a plus but not required.  Applicants must be enthusiastic about helping our preschoolers develop spiritually, intellectually, socially, and physically.  If you are interested, please complete the teacher application and send it to rob.spykstra@msa-qc.org

Spanish Teacher
We have an opening for a part-time Spanish Teacher (with a possibility of being full-time).

The Spanish teacher will oversee and teach Upper School language courses (Spanish I, ll, and lll) so that each participating student achieves a higher level of ability to communicate in Spanish, gain knowledge and understanding of the Spanish culture, connect with other disciplines within the Upper School as those disciplines pertain to Spanish, develop insight into the nature of language and culture, and participate in multilingual communities at home with the aim that the students might better love their non-English speaking neighbors.

Facilities Manager
A significant role in fulfilling our mission is the upkeep of our facilities. We are looking for an individual who shares our vision of shaping lives of the next generation by using their talents and gifts to oversee our facilities. The responsibility of this position includes:

  • Cleaning
  • Regular preventative maintenance (e.g. furnace filters)
  • Non-permit building repairs
  • Diagnosis of mechanical and structural problems
  • Liaison between school and outside vendors and services
  • Oversight of grounds and parking lot issues

It is a part-time position -- nearly full time when school is in session with flexibility over the breaks -- and ideal for someone who is retired or semi-retired. Recess, Lunch and Classroom Aide
Morning Star Academy is looking for a part-time aide. The primary responsibilities is to oversee the Lower School recesses and lunch. Secondary responsibilities will be to assist Lower School teachers when needed. It is a Monday through Friday position with an anticipated 3 ½ hours of work per day.  The position requires learning the basic student expectations in the halls and at recess and an understanding of the procedures that protects the safety of the students. It also requires assisting with lunch, enforcing lunch student expectations and general lunch clean-up. This position is ideal for a stay-at-home MSA parent or retiree.
